The Lions are proud to have served the local community since 1970, and continue to do so by giving assistance to individuals, groups or organisations that are in need or where a little financial help would make a difference.

We are also mindful of the needs of the wider community where disasters affect vast numbers of people. 

The Lions Club of Dorchester does not only serve the town of Dorchester it also covers the surrounding villages of West Dorset.

In order to reflect the wider scope of the Club the name was officially changed on the 8th August 2008 to - The Lions Club of Dorchester & District.
